I think I this one and the bottom one the best. I will comment on that one separately.
I am not familiar with the culture but I'm going to assume that the tower is an important monument of sort and the stylize sun adds to concept of the "light" and hope the Olympic Games hold. I'm not exactly sure with type choices you have but maybe something script to complement the geometric shapes of the symbol.
I agree, I think that this design has the most potential. When you add color and type, it will help a lot. But you might want to play with the hierarchy. Right now everything is the same size and it is hard to read. I would suggest trying to move the text around, maybe putting the date on the side or putting the date next to the rings, something to break up the shape a little bit. The design has a very geometric abstract look and I think there are ways to complement that with the type.
This one is looking good. It seems like out of all of them it portrays the culture the most. Explore some native typefaces for this one to bring it all together and incorporate some colors that portray the city.
